Nancy E. Lane, who also contributed to the study, highlighted the potential of this approach. She explained, “During the study, we recognized that Basigin is a promising new target for protecting bone health. We believed that if we could find a way to block this protein, we might be able to prevent or even reverse the bone damage caused by long term steroid use, while still preserving the benefits of glucocorticoid therapy.” This research illustrates how subtle shifts in internal signaling can influence physical structure, and it invites a broader understanding of healing in which biology and awareness work together to support long term bone wellness.
