14 Jun Evidence of Ancient Life on Mars? The Red Planet Reveals A Secret.
What is the most exciting thing about space exploration? Discovery. And the possibility of discovering life on another planet has fueled our science fiction and even ancient myths for as long as humans have been sharing dreams. Did we discover life on Mars, the Great Red Planet?
We’re not in a position yet to say for sure, but with this latest set of discoveries published on June 7, 2018, by the journal Science, the NASA Curiosity Rover has for the second time since it began its mission found organic molecules with its onboard mass spectrometer. The first time was in 2013 there were chlorine, carbon, and hydrogen-based organic molecules. This time though it found a small variety of carbon-based organic molecules including propane and benzene as well as some of which that are believed to be the result of complex organic matter that doesn’t survive the spectrometer’s heating process. The most significant part about this find is that it was only 5 cm below the surface in hardened mudstone, which shows the oxidation processes active on the surface may not have destroyed all evidence of possible ancient life on the Red Planet.
Could it mean this is the beginning of discovering evidence to reveal what we learned about from Thoth in the Human History Movie? Could information about the ancient peoples of Mars be coming to light? It’s very likely we will only discover more evidence with the coming missions planned with rovers and eventually a colony on Mars. Only time will tell, we’ll have to keep our minds and hearts open as we search for the answers together. Let us know your thoughts about what this means in the comments. Would you go live on the Red Planet?
